First developed in 2006 The Guinea Pig Loudspeaker was both a response to the lack of interesting speakers for iPods and an exploration into the potential performance of an un-amplified speaker.

The Guinea Pig was designed to reference speakers from the 50's and 60's that were supposed to be functional while also being sympathetic to their environment.

I selected a simple slot and tab construction system using laser cut hardboard to allow me to self assemble the speakers. Vintage cable was sourced and hand soldered to the drivers and headphone plugs. Finally each of the limited run of 25 speakers was given an individual name and put up for 'adoption' online.
